The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of Soldier's Tree, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he felt his mount was shying away from the horse on his outside and that the conditions were extremely tough.
